You Just Want to Get Rid of Acne, and Now Need an Attorney? |
Accutane is a very powerful, and yes, many times very effective drug which treats people who have moderate to severe, and as yet untreatable acne. However, Accutane is not a drug which should be taken lightly.
Not only are there possible exposures to deeply rooted mental issues, but patients are strongly
warned not to get pregnant while on the drug, due to a substantially increased risk their baby will be
deformed (even severely), and even death can occur. This link between taking of one's own life, and severely
depressed behavior has prompted many people, both the families of Accutane patients and the patients
themselves, to pursue litigation and hire Accutane Lawyers.
There are several reports of individual on this drug exhibiting depressed behavior, and also reporting
feelings of hopelessness, apathy, and even thoughts of suicide. Unfortunately, some of those thoughts in
these Accutane patients turned to reality, and they took their own life.
I know back when I was younger and this drug came out, if you were a woman they actually made you take
birth control pills while you were on Accutane, as an extra precaution against getting pregnant. I'm not
sure if that's still the case, but a federal registry has even been adopted where all patients taking the drug
have to go through a special screening process as well as a special registration and identification
process.
Why So Many People are Finding Themselves Accutane Lawyers (Attorney
specializing in Accutane or Drug Cases)
This is a very serious drug folks, and not a drug to be taken until all other methods (you know I prefer
natural methods to get rid of acne) are tried and have failed. Female patients are even warned not to get
pregnant for at least a month after the treatment has stopped. I don't know about you, but would you want
to take a drug that causes severe damage to a fetus?
If it can actually cause death in a fetus, what is it doing to you? That's just my opinion though, that this is indeed a somewhat scary drug, and the stories I hear on message boards and forums range from mildly alarming to bells and whistles signaling that this drug needs to be under tight restriction.
I feel the Accutane registry is definitely a step in the right direction, but also more education on the drug is
desperately in need. You can find to your right a listing of helpful resources which can help you locate a
suitable attorney (lawyer) if you need one for a case against Accutane if you or a loved one has
experienced negative and damaging side effects that you feel are legally pursuable.
