  • Great Color, No Developing Odor in This Self Tanner

Self tanners have become a staple in so many of our beauty drawers that it is no wonder we now see the drugstore and department store shelves packed with different self tanning options, especially in those spring and summer months when we all don more revealing clothing. I am definitely no exception. In fact, I consider myself somewhat of a self tanning pioneer, at least in my circle of friends.

I remember when self tanning was still fairly new, many of my friends would laugh at me when I had orange palms. However, once I got the hang of it, they soon started asking me for pointers on how to apply it so they didn't have to go to tanning beds to get a convincing glow. Over the years, I've tried countless self tanners, all with varying degrees of success, and the one thing that bothered me most was the strong smell the occurs after it is applied.

However, I never found one that did not have the awful, strong scent that reminds one of copper pennies mixed with dirty socks (sorry, that’s the best description I can come up with, I am sure everyone has their own interpretation of this distinct, unpleasant scent), as it developed. I received a free product to try out from Antidote Skin care, which I'm happy to report was a great product that resulted in a great color. Antidote Skin Care (use the coupon code 09BLCSG if you're thinking of ordering, you get 20% off!), I believe has found one of the best answers to an inoffensive olfactory experience in the realm of self tanning, the best I've tried so far in that sense.

Many of them would go on smelling like roses, but would inevitably come out smelling terrible an hour or two later when the color began to develop, it never failed. Well, thankfully the self tanner by Antidote Skin Care called Summer Glow does not have this unpleasant odor. In fact, any odor that I smelled was so faint that I had to literally close my eyes and concentrate to pick it up at all, with my nose an inch away from my skin.

With other self tanners, you KNOW when you're developing, and so do the people that might get close to you. I can’t tell you how many times my fiance wanted to kick me out of bed at night because my tanner developed into a stinky mess! Let me tell you about some of the other benefits of Summer Glow, and if you want to try this product out for yourself, again, they're offering you 20% off the price of the product if you use this coupon code when ordering 09BLCSG. This product is tinted pretty deeply, so when you apply it, it gives you a sort of “insta-tan”, which means you can apply it and go to an event, without worrying how you’re going to smell in the next two hours.

Because of it's deep color though, you do have to be careful about letting it dry completely before dressing, and you may want to avoid light clothing colors while it is developing, but other than that, you are ok to go anywhere with the product on. The smell going on is a great, very fresh scent that is not overpowering or offensive in any way.

The product was formulated with some sort of malodor agent, which helps to encapsulate the odor causing molecules and pretty much banish the most offensive stages of self tanning. I even wore this product to bed and didn’t feel like the smell was rising off of me all night, which was refreshing since this is the most annoying part of self tanning in my opinion.

The color came out really nice, it was a very natural, tawny hue that I felt did not look orange at all, but instead seemed to have wonderful, natural undertones that really blended with my skin tone well. I blended the product with a bit of light moisturizer to help it blend into my skin better, and came out with a nice outcome.

Summer Glow is part of a line of products that has been created for the self tanning addicts of this world - and there are plenty of us now! They also have a body scrub that helps you to exfoliate the excess dead skin cells so you have a more flawless application, and the packaging is really great since it comes in a pump bottle, which makes application all that much easier, so you don't have to keep tipping a bottle upside down to apply, which can be quite messy when working with self tanners.

All in all, I have really enjoyed using this self tanner. The color is great, and I just can’t rave enough about the lack of that ever-unpleasant odor!
